Apr 23, 2014How to Shoot Sunsets

Today's question is about using your digital camera to shoot sunsets.

Question:
What is the secret to properly shooting sunsets?

Answer:
We have all seen perfect pictures of breathtaking images of sunsets. And many have tried to capture their own sunsets and failed. Today's "how to" article from the professional wedding photographers and high school senior photographers at www.VisualizedArts.com reveals the secret. The professional and correct way to shoot a sunset is to use a handheld light meter but light meters are expensive and requires training. However, you can still use your camera's built in light meter if you point the camera just above the setting sun. When the viewfinder is filled but does not contain the sun, press the shutter button halfway and hold it. Continuing to hold the shutter button, align the camera to capture your desired view and then fully press the shutter button. Be careful not to release the shutter until you have taken the shot else your exposure will be wrong and your picture ruined. You have just captured your first beautiful digitized sunset! But don't take my word for it, review the image and see for yourself!
